Blue State Coffee would like to wish you the happiest of holidays.
2008 has been a great year. Thanks to our customers, we’ve given away over $70,000 to progressive local and national causes. We’ve fought and cheered for President-elect Barack Obama. And we traveled to L.A. to co-sponsor the Eco-Gift Festival.
In 2009, we look forward to opening stores in New Haven and the Brown Bookstore. Thank you for being part of our community. Happy holidays, from our family to yours.

Blue State Coffee meets Los Angeles!
Well, we’re actually blogging from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, Ca. Blue State Coffee is the official coffee sponsor of Eco Gift 2008, a festival for environmentally friendly holiday shopping. Trade in your big-box boredom and shopping mall mayhem for sustainable organic clothing lines, environmentally friendly baby toys, cosmetics, yoga products, and everything else you can imagine.
Blue State Coffee is sharing our coffee, 100% corn travel mugs, USA made clothing and more at our booth. Founders Tom Clark and Marshall Ruben are here, along with the BSC management team Alex and Benjamin, plus a perennial Thayer Street customer who volunteered to fly to sunny Santa Monica just to help us out.

That’s right friends! Next week Blue State Coffee is heading to the City of Angels to participate in the 2008 EcoGift Festival. EcoGift was created to provide holiday shoppers with a conscious alternative to the “the difficult emotions, inconveniences and terrible waste associated with the holidays and holiday shopping.” In addition to shopping, EcoGift will be offering notable eco-conscious speakers & fun live music.
Blue State Coffee looks forward to providing the 15,000 environmentally friendly festival goers with our environmentally friendly coffee and espresso drinks while they shop for such products as: bio-degrable yoga mats, goats milk skin care, and Sri Lankan Elephant Dung paper products. We’re not kidding! For a whole list of exhibitors, click here. We’ll also be selling our US made gear: 100% corn travel mugs, t-shirts, BSC branded coffee cups, and more!
For all the ‘O Pioneers!’, ‘California Girls’, and ‘Surfer Dude’s’, take a break from the beach and head over to the Santa Monica Civic Center December 12th, 13th & 14th for some delicious fair trade coffees and most responsible and exciting shopping event of the season.
